DownEast & Improper: THANKSGIVING

There are some times that being a food photographer really pays off. One of those times is leading up to Thanksgiving. This year I got to bring home the leftovers from not one, not two, but THREE Thanksgiving dinners! Below are the pictures from the first two with DownEast Magazine and the Improper Bostonian.

This mouthwatering shot of seasonal lobster salad was almost a magazine cover star—but it didn’t quite make it. ⁠ ⁠ It's always disappointing when that happens, but eventually I realized that those changes are less about the quality of the photo and more about other considerations behind the scenes. Learning not to take those losses personally was an important part of becoming a professional photographer.

Having trouble with lactose doesn’t mean you have to avoid ice cream (at least, not anymore). That’s where @beckonicecream comes in, a lactose-free ice cream brand that uses real milk and cream. ⁠ ⁠ I got to help showcase how creamy and delicious this ice cream is a while back with some fun pops of color to reflect the brand’s playful vibe.
