One of my favorite assignments this year was photographing singer and songwriter, Justine Bowe for Northshore Magazine. We took some time to walk around her neighborhood in Somerville and got some nice shots in the end of the day light.

This mouthwatering shot of seasonal lobster salad was almost a magazine cover star—but it didn’t quite make it. ⁠ ⁠ It's always disappointing when that happens, but eventually I realized that those changes are less about the quality of the photo and more about other considerations behind the scenes. Learning not to take those losses personally was an important part of becoming a professional photographer.

Having trouble with lactose doesn’t mean you have to avoid ice cream (at least, not anymore). That’s where @beckonicecream comes in, a lactose-free ice cream brand that uses real milk and cream. ⁠ ⁠ I got to help showcase how creamy and delicious this ice cream is a while back with some fun pops of color to reflect the brand’s playful vibe.
